• Having played many years as an England International, culminating in being selected for the Commonwealth Games, one of our Directors, Bill Hobart, has studied with interest the development of artificial outdoor bowling greens.
  
  
• Many mistakes have been made since the first installation about 20 years ago including -
  

1. Materials not being UV stabilised
   
2. Green speeds too fast especially under windy conditions
   
3. Characteristics not resembling outdoor bowling conditions
   
4. Carpets not durable for outdoor use
   
5. Too much maintenance required to keep the greens in a suitable condition
   
6. Some materials caused damage to bowls
   
7. Bases not constructed to the required tolerances
   
8. Bases not constructed with suitable drainage

• These are just a sample of the mistakes made over the years and are the major reasons why artificial bowling greens have not developed to the extent we expected in the last 10 years
  
  
• After an extensive examination of the various base construction methods and the characteristics required for the actual bowling surface and underlay and taking in the specifications required to adhere to the World Bowls Board Performance Standards, INBOWLS & LEISURE (SPORTS SURFACES) LTD are proud to present the 'PREMIER' OUTDOOR ARTIFICIAL BOWLING PACKAGE
  
  
• In brief the 'PREMIER' package can include any or all of the following -
  

1. Site survey
   
2. Provide Technical Drawings and Method Statement
   
3. Base works
   
4. Drainage
   
5. Sportsbase, laser levelled to the tolerances laid down by the WBB
   
6. Paths
   
7. Construction of banks and ditches
   
8. Supply and installation of 'PREMIER' Needle punched bowling surface and underlay to provide a recommended outdoor green speed of 13 - 14 seconds
